MEET THE WINNERS

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive, irreversible, unpredictable and incurable disease that kills the same number of people every year as breast cancer. Yet, IPF remains an unknown disease that receives little attention resulting in a lack of innovative solutions, research, patient resources, and funding that is desperately needed. But with Three Lakes Partners, all that changes now.

Collaboration is at the heart of Three Lakes Partner’s mission, and is our engine. We want problem solvers, innovative thinkers and people with a passion. SPEEDING UP DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis of IPF is difficult, as it relies upon the process of elimination. Because of this, it takes an average of 26 months for a patient to be diagnosed with IPF. This delay in diagnosis can take a significant physical and emotional toll on the patient’s well-being. That’s why Three Lakes Partners is dedicated to funding and fueling innovative diagnostics and devices to incite the brightest minds to make faster strides towards IPF diagnoses.

IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE FOR IPF PATIENT AND CAREGIVERS

Because IPF is a disease that we are only beginning to understand, its implications on patients are nebulous. Three Lakes is working to change this uncertainty with initiatives like the IPF Catalyst Challenge. This Challenge is in collaboration with IDEO, who have for the first time, documented the full patient experience. This helps us to better understand the impact of IPF treatment on patients and the inflection points where meaningful investments can change patient quality of life.

CREATING BETTER TREATMENTS

When finally diagnosed, many patients are beyond the point of help. Sadly, 50% of patients die within two years of finally being diagnosed, and 80% die within five years. Three Lakes Partners is working to change the treatment landscape for IPF patients and recently announced their strategic partnership with NuMedii to use data and intelligence in order to accelerate the development of promising technologies for IPF. Three Lakes Partners is attacking IPF from all sides: diagnosis, treatment, patient quality of life, research, and funding all by engaging the most innovative, aggressive, and experienced partners in their fight against IPF.
